Over the period from 2016 to 2018, enterprises in Italy increased their expenditure on information security services. Between 2017 and 2018, the size of the IT security market increased by nine percent, passing from about 1.1 billion euros to 1.2 billion euros. According to the data provided by Osservatori Digital Innovation, large companies were driving the growth, accounting for about three quarters of the total spending in IT security in 2018. This growth reflects the increasing number and cost of cyberattacks recorded in the period.
